Publications Chair – Linda Fischer
Being in charge of the Branch publications is a multi-faceted job. Producing documents that convey our information in a clear and concise manner is my main goal. The Chair of any committee in need of materials can have a committee member produce the items or work with the Publications Chair. The yearly Publications budget usually covers the amount of the Directory printing plus the cost of a ream of paper and printer ink.
The Directory, Branch Membership Brochure, Book Club Brochures, and name tags are organized in August and early September of each year. Input from officers and those who will use the documents is critical to collecting all the correct information.
Other types of documents I have on file include: book marks, booklet covers, certificates, invitations and note cards. Fund raisers have required tickets, programs, decorations and signage. For Lobby Days, I have made poster tri-folds, business cards and name tags.
I joined the Coastal-Georgetown Branch in 1995 after being in the Milford Branch since 1974. I have held various Branch and State AAUW jobs throughout the years. Learning more about the computer and graphics is fun for me. I even took two courses at Del Tech early in my computer days and surely need some more with all the new technology!
